The Ennum Ezhuthum programme was introduced in 2023-24 for grades 4 and 5 in order to provide extended facilitation and continuous support.
This approach has
enabled teachers to support and help students achieve the fundamental skills as well
as the grade appropriate competencies.
The textbook has been used as a tool to focus on, revise and recycle the language structures and functions. It has ensured that all
students get an opportunity to acquire these basic competencies.
The following common features and strategies adopted in term 1 have been followed in term 2 also.
Colour coded activities – to indicate the class for which activity needs to be conducted 3 Grammar and
Vocabulary–common activities for classes 4 and 5

Poems – transacted as activities focusing on the learning
outcomes
