7th Pay Commission: Hike of Rs 8,000 in Minimum Pay, Increase in Fitment Factor Likely Soon?
7th Pay
Commission Latest News: As the wait of over 50 lakh Central
Government
employees and an equivalent number of retirees for a hike in fitment factor and
minimum factor grows longer day-by-day, reports suggest that the Narendra Modi
government may soon accept their demands of a hike of Rs 8,000 against the
present minimum pay beyond recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
On the other hand, it is likely that the Prime Minister may announce a hike in
fitment factor and minimum pay beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations in
another 20 days i.e. on August 15, Independence Day. However, no official
confirmation on the same has been made yet.
*(7th Pay
Commission: Hike in Minimum Pay, Fitment Factor For Central Govt Employees
Soon, Salary to Increase to Rs 26,000?)*
_The Central
and state government employees are demanding a hike of 3.68 times from 2.57
times in fitment factor and an increase of minimum pay from Rs 18,000 to Rs
21,000 beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations from the Centre_
Amid the
rumours that are doing rounds about the hike in minimum pay and fitment factor
as per the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission or 7th CPC, another good news
for the Central Government employees and pensioners is regarding an increase in
the dearness allowance. As per reports, a hike in dearness allowance would benefit
approximately 48.41 lakh central government employees and around 61 lakh
pensioners. The news has provided a strong base to the hopes of lakhs of
Central Government employees who are waiting for a fitment factor and minimum
factor hike beyond recommendations of 7th Pay Panel.
Earlier this
year, 50 lakh Central Government employees were left in a lurch when the
Minister of Finance (MoS) P Radhakrishnan informed the Rajya Sabha that the
Centre is not considering announcing a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor
beyond the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
However, the
governments of various states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jammu and
Kashmir among others have started announcing the benefits of the 7th Pay
Commission or 7th CPC for their employees. Recently, the Maharashtra government
said that it will hike the pay of its employees from Diwali this year. The
decision will benefit 19 lakh government employees across the state.
